2004

Bruna Colombo-Otten (Italo-Britannica residente a Londra e in Liechtenstein) antropologa, va in Bangladesh a Novembre con un’organizzazione Svizzera e incontra a Dhaka Ali Akkel Howlader. Ali lavora da 35 anni per l’organizzazione Svedese ‘Interlife’ prendendosi cura di persone disabili. Ali parla a Bruna del suo sogno di creare una casa e scuola per bambini orfani con differenti tipi di disabilità che gioverebbero vivendo insieme, imparando insieme, aiutandosi e dandosi supporto l’un con l’altro

2005

Bruna finances Ali to start the project: they rent a property with two big and two smaller buildings with a big garden and an orchard; they house the first children and start the school and wood workshop; they organize the first cleft lip operations with a surgeon in Dhaka.

2006

Lars-Erik Wallhagen from Sweden, that has known Ali for many years, joins Bruna to help financing the home/school; Jose’-Luis Andarias from Spain, after meeting Bruna in Morocco, becomes one of her major supporter to help Ali and the children.

2007

Lars-Erik with a group of Swedish friends, Bruna and Jose’-Luis with Dinah Wiener, an English literary agent that went with them to visit Ali and the children, raise money to buy the property Bhola Garden; In March, thanks to the great help and efforts of Dinah, Bhola’s Children is registered as a UK charity.20

2008

Grazie ad una intensa campagna per raccogliere fondi soprattutto in Inghilterra, ma anche con l’aiuto di Bay Foundation-Svizzera e privati in Liechtenstein, Italia e Spagna, membri della FAO, abbiamo inziato la costruzione del nuovo ostello che in futuro alloggerà 50 bambini. In quattro anni abbiamo organizzato piu’ di 100 operazioni per labbro leporino; a ottobre BHOLAS CHILDREN FOUNDATION è ufficialmente registrata in Liechtenstein: No 002.302.710-4.

2009

A marzo il nuovo ostello è finito di costruire. Grazie a una generosa donazione abbiamo installato le tolette e docce, rosa per le ragazze, verdi per i ragazzi. Siamo riusciti anche a mettere vetri alle finestre. A giugno i nostri ragazzi e ragazze si sono trasferiti nell'ostello.
